Dr. Urvi P. Vyas
Dr. Urvi P. Vyas received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri in August 2003. She attended Ohio State University for undergraduate work in Biology and Microbiology and minored in Spanish. Dr. Vyas also completed her chiropractic preceptorship at Pain Management of Indianapolis, a multidisciplinary clinic, graduating on Dean’s List.
Over the years, Dr. Vyas’ clinical practice experience includes spinal corrective care and rehab, wellness and prevention, family care, nutrition and functional medicine, and brain based chiropractic/functional neurology. In addition, she has continued to fuel her passion for evidence based nutrition, through seminars, books, and research and has implemented specific clinical protocols to serve each patient’s individual needs.
Affectionately known as Dr. Urvi, she implements a nutritional focus with her patients (functional medicine) offering nutritional, dietary, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations to accelerate the healing process. Specific lab tests are ordered if necessary to identify the patient’s specific nutritional demands. This approach goes hand in hand with chiropractic care, addressing the underlying cause of health problems, not merely masking symptoms. This system of specific protocols has been especially helpful to naturally improve symptoms of weight gain, digestive complaints, hormone imbalances, low thyroid symptoms, chronic pain, and fatigue. By addressing nervous system function along with lifestyle and nutrition, patients are experiencing optimal health and maximized results.
She is also a passionate advocate educating the community on the importance of chiropractic care and spinal health, nutrition and functional medicine, empowering the community to take action for their own health and decreasing dependence on medication and minimizing chances for surgery. Some of her speaking events include The National Institute of Fitness and Sports, IUPUI, and the Celiac Awareness Tour.
Dr. Urvi has been happily married for 13 years and is a mom to 2 wonderful boys, ages 6 and 4. Enjoying life in the Broad Ripple area, they frequently enjoy family walks, running, and dining. She and her husband run the Indianapolis Mini Marathon annually. Some of Dr. Vyas’ personal interests include tennis, cooking, yoga, and travel.
